The Joint Russian/U.S. Project, mentioned above, also included NAFSA and/or AACRAO members Dr. Bill Paver, Gloria Nathanson, Johnny Johnson, Gary Anderson, Edward Baudin and Linda Scatton on the U.S. side and an equal number of representatives, headed by Dr. Yuri Akimov of the Russian Ministry of Education, on the Russian side. Visits were made by both teams to each others' countries, followed by ongoing visits and communications, to come to agreement and determine the mutual understanding of Russian/U.S. educational equivalents. The closing ceremony is scheduled to take place in either Moscow or St.
Petersburg in 2007.

Dr. Fletcher has been an active member of Nafsa for more than 20 years and has made presentations on international education at both regional and national conferences, as well as the entry on Chile in Nafsa's /A Guide to Educational Systems around the World/, edited by Shelley M. Feagles. He is the author of /The Complete Handbook and Glossary of Soviet Education/ and /Chile: A Comparative Education Study,/ and was inducted into the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences in 1999. Most recently, he completed the Chilean and Russian entries in Dr. Paver's AACRAO /EDGE Project/. He is a charter member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at New York University.
